The Cruche was the most common vessel found throughout France. Originally, it was utilized for serving water at the table or where it was needed throughout the home. At the end of the 18th C, a second handle was added making it usable for transporting liquid for short distances as well as serving. This poterie was used mainly for water but in certain regions it also served the same purpose for le vin et l’ huile.
