The Cruche was the most common vessel found throughoutFrance. Originally, it was utilized for serving water at thetable or where it was needed throughout the home. At theend of the 18th C, a second handle was added making it usablefor transporting liquid for short distances as well as serving.This poterie was used mainly for water but in certain regionsit also served the same purpose for le vin et l’ huile.
